I find it interesting as to the number of electronic tools which are available. Most of the technology I use has been directed to me in a work related environment. The RSS reader could be a good additional working tool depending on the need. Some things came to mind as pros and cons of this product. Such as: Is it just another tool to learn or will it replace something I already use? Will I use it? What would I use it for? Will it make my work easier? Would it be something beneficial for work related and/or personal? Would it work well in my job related activities along side what I already use? How would it be beneficial to me or will it just add to my workload as something else to do and manage? Just a few things to think about before considering another tool.
There are many features to this reader which give you options as to manipulating the information you add. The RSS reader has the ability to save you time by browsing the folders for the newsfeeds which are unread. This product could be very practical and helps to keep subjects organized by files. At this time I am not sure how many sites/links I use are available as feeders for this to be a useful work tool. It could be a benefit if organized by subject and folders within our system to post updates and changes.
I tried the different methods for newsfeeds and found Blogline's easiest to use. The others did not seem to have feeds which I was looking for.

Assignment-3
I have not used Flickr before but have tried other image tools as Camtasia Studio 5 and Facebook. Similar to Flickr for sharing and storing images is Facebook. I did open a Flickr account to use it and tried to create a badge with some of my photos. I created the badge but was able to add it to my blog, some error message :-( . I am sure Flickr could be a benefit to share photos of authors, illustrators, new
book releases and so on.
Some of the tools would be useful. I can see mashups being a useful tool in bringing information together in one location. Bringing together various pieces of a theme based project for a website display to provide information to our library patrons.
I have not used any mashup tools, but a friend has used mashups or a similar process for slide show presentations of walking treks I have done in the United Kingdom. He has used Google Earth and downloaded from his GPS each days trek and then superimposed them onto Google Earth and added them to a slide show presentation. It's quite fascinating!

Assignment-2
HI All!
I look forward to the next few months!
New technology does not come easy to me. I like learning more about technology, but if I don't use it, I lose it. What is that old saying? "Practice makes perfect." This summer I just finished a Mohawk College course, called Electronics and it's very similar to what Web 2.0 is offering us.
I'm optimistic this training will reinforce what I've already learned and encourage me to begin/continue using some of this technology on a regular basis.
